Pivot point:

It is an unlikely piece, as well as its cult, its creed. Its title –Pivot Point- prosecutes the ambiguous, signaling binary paths, the coexistence of the beautiful and the ridicule.  Its semantic and subtle reference is a reflection of the absurd, of esthetic chaos positioned in harmony.  Could be that by sacralizing this everyday object (the fan), the action resulted cynical, since religion in piece is not a conceptual mean, but an ironical medium of visual attraction, a surrealistic catalyst.

Es una obra inverosímil, y también lo es su culto, su credo. Su título –Pivot Point- es acusador de lo ambivalente, señala caminos binarios, la convivencia de “lo bello y lo ridículo”. Su referente semántico y sutil es una reflexión de lo absurdo, del desorden estético puesto en armonía.
Que este objeto cotidiano (el ventilador) haya sido sacralizado pudiera ser una acción cínica. Pues en esta obra la religión no es un fin conceptual, sino un medio irónico de atracción visual, un catalizador surrealista que define a un tipo de cultura, un tipo de humano social y su tiempo.
Pero también, suprimir la convivencia bizarra de los diferentes materiales; ejemplo: el ventilador no es de acero, su remendada base no es de madera, las flores no son plásticas, las jarras no son de barro, el ojo de Dios y fortuna no es de plata, la estructura del altar no esta recubierta de yeso pintado; desorienta la visión formal del espectador dandole a la obra, de inspiración local, la posibilidad de interpretaciones más universales.

CAMBRÉ

TITLE OF ARTWORK: Cambré

Inspiration: American dancer Beatriz Stix-Brunell.
She was born in Miami, 1993. Stix-Brunell is a First Soloist of The Royal Ballet since 2016. She grew up in New York City and began her training aged seven at the School of American Ballet. Aged 12 she joined the Paris Opéra Ballet School and on returning to New York learnt privately with Fabrice Herrault. Aged 14 she was invited by Christopher Wheeldon to join his company Morphoses; performances with Morphoses included Polyhymnia’s variation (Apollo) and roles in Wheeldon’s There Where She Loved, Fool’s Paradiseand Polyphonia. She also created roles in Commedia and a Wheeldon/Martha Wainwright collaboration.

Ballet movement selected: Cambré (French term).

When a dancer is doing Cambré, their body is bent from the waist and stretching backward or sideways with the head following the movement of the upper body and arms.

EN LA PIEL DE TUS ZAPATOS

ART NACO IT’S EXPONENTIAL FACTOR TO KITSCH ART

This work of art is a form of appropriation of Arte Naco. The symbol of cowboy boots belongs to a popular Mexican iconography that represents a specific social and cultural influence. In addition, it is an element that crosses the different cultures of the country. In general, the work is a discourse to Mexican tautological actions, an allegory of life and death of a very particular vision. The concept flirts with authentic popular music and kitsch “narco corrido”. In my opinion, is a chronicler of culture and a manifesto of palimpsest in that country

Esta obra de arte es una forma de apropiación del Arte Naco. El símbolo de las botas de vaquero pertenece a una iconografía mexicana popular que representa una influencia social y cultural específica. Además, es un elemento que recorre las diferentes culturas del pais. En general, el trabajo es un discurso a las acciones tautológicas mexicanas, una alegoría de vida y muerte de una visión muy particular. El concepto coquetea con la música popular auténtica y kitsch “el narco corrido”, que en mi opinión, es cronista de la cultura y un manifiesto de palimpsesto en ese país
